31% of the Spanish population used the Internet for downloading/listening to/watching music and/or films in 2008, 3 percentage points more than the European population. In the EU-27, Northern European countries such as The Netherlands, Luxemburg and Denmark lead the ranking with values of 46%, 42% and 36% respectively, standing as the countries that used the Internet for downloading/listening to/watching music and/or films the most. At the other extreme, countries like Italy, Romania or Cyprus record values clearly below the European average (28%), namely 15%, 16% and 16% respectively. This indicator has only been measured in 2008 so we cannot analyse the historical evolution of it.

The sample is composed of individuals between the ages of 16 and 74 years.
