80.6% of Spanish households have fixed telephone, according to the results of the Survey on the Equipment and Use of Information and Communication Technologies in households, published by the INE and referring to 2011.
The implementation of fixed telephones has decreased in the last years. While in 2002 the percentage of households with fixed telephone was 90.2%, currently this percentage is 80.6%, 9.6 percentage points below figures for 2002. However, if we make a comparison of the last two years we observe a stagnation of the decline, since in the period 2010-2011 the drop was only of 0.3 percentage points.

Study based on telephone and personal interviews. The theoretical sample size comprises 24,972 houses and 3,922 reserves. Therefore 28,894 houses have been visited. One person aged 15 years old or over is selected from each house; likewise, information is obtained on all children aged 10 to 15 years old residing in the family home. For 2002 and 2003, data refers to Spanish population aged 15 or over. From 2003 onwards, data refers to Spanish population aged 16-74.
