According to the latest data, there are not only more individuals using the Internet, but also more of them who use it regularly. The growing awareness among European Internet users of the advantages associated with using the web in their daily activities leads to a more regular use of the Internet. In 2010, in Spain, 58% of the population were regular users of the Internet, which represents an important increase from 31% in 2004. At the European level, countries like the Netherlands and Sweden exceed the European average (65%), with values of 88%. At the other extreme, there are countries like Romania, Greece and Bulgaria that, with values of 34% 41% and 42% respectively, are far behind the European average. The value for Spain (58%) is close to the EU average and higher than those of Italy and Portugal.
